A Brite Future

Removing hard-to-reach grease and baked-on dirt from commercial grills, ovens, fryers and griddles are some of the toughest cleaning jobs in the commercial kitchen, which is why 3M has recently introduced two new, innovative products to give more power to the cleaner’s elbow. Both are designed to increase productivity and reduce labour costs, whilst improving user safety.

The fi rst kitchen cleaning tool to adjust to the task at hand, this highly versatile device can be used in three different positions, and with multiple pad options to clean a variety of ovens, fryers and other kitchen surfaces quicker, safer and with ease. With the handle fully extended, the Scotch-Brite Fryer and Kitchen Cleaning Tool is ideal for deep

fryers and hoods, keeping hands far away from potential hot spots while reaching into the farthest corners.

When the handle and pad are set at right angles, it is perfect for ovens, giving a better angle and leverage for power cleaning, without any awkward bending and twisting to get the job done. The third ‘acute’ position is designed for all types of grills and fl attops, allowing real pressure to be put on the oil and carbon build-up while keeping hands away from the heat.

For complete versatility of use, the lightweight and durable Scotch- Brite Fryer and Kitchen Cleaning Tool comes with multiple HACCP International approved pad options, for low scratch, medium duty and heavy duty applications. All pads

are resistant up to 170°C and can be quickly locked into place and removed for ease of use.

Also new to the 3M™ portfolio is the Scotch-Brite™ Quick Clean Griddle Cleaning System which cuts cleaning time in half. Quick, safe and easy to use, it cleans fl at griddles in half the time of traditional griddle cleaning products, by incorporating a powerful but non-toxic liquid cleaner that lifts and loosens carbonised food from the hot griddle surface. The food soil can then be easily and safely scoured and polished away using HACCP approved 3M™ Scotch- Brite™ Hand Pads, leaving a clean, hygienic griddle surface. Typically, a dirty, food-soiled griddle can be cleaned in just three to fi ve minutes!

Key to the system’s performance is its powerful liquid cleaner, which (unlike other chemical cleaners) does not contain caustic soda or emit irritating vapours. When the liquid is poured onto the hot griddle (150-170˚C) it immediately begins to lift and loosen stubborn, burnt-on food and grease from the griddle plate. The surface can then be gently scoured and polished using a 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ 450 Hand Pad and 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Multi- Purpose Pad Holder, which features a 30cm handle to reduce the risk of burning and enable users to safely reach the back of a hot griddle.

Each 3M Scotch-Brite Quick Clean Griddle Cleaning System contains a 750ml bottle of ready-to-use cleaning liquid, complete with innovative dosing cap, and one pack of 3M Scotch-Brite 450 Hand Pads (six per pack), plus a Scotch-Brite Multi- Purpose Pad Holder.
