BICSc Annual Awards Dinner Dates Revealed


The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) have confirmed that their Annual Awards Dinner 2014 will take place on the 18th of September, at the Forest Of Arden Hotel and Country Club, Birmingham.


The event is the largest and most anticipated event in the Institute’s calendar, with hundreds of cleaning and FM industry professionals in attendance from across the globe.


The awards ceremony celebrates the outstanding excellence in accredited training and assessment. The event provides guests with a thoroughly enjoyable evening filled with dinner, entertainment and excellent networking opportunities with others in the industry.


This year, BICSc want to offer guests the most user-friendly experience possible, and will be introducing


a dedicated online microsite area for everything related to the BICSc Awards. Whether you want to apply for the Awards, book tickets, view key dates, see last years winners or find out more about the judging process, this information will all be available from the BICSc website on the 21st of February.

Incentive QAS Takes The Lead Role At The RSC


Following a competitive tender, Incentive QAS, the specialist cleaning arm of Incentive FM Group, has been awarded a three year contract by The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), one of the world's best known theatre companies.


Under the terms of the deal, Incentive QAS will be responsible for the cleaning of RSC’s multiple sites in Stratford-upon-Avon and London, including its main theatre which seats 1,040 people. This will include providing regular daily and programmed periodic cleaning of the theatres and estate, servicing


of the theatre facilities throughout performances, and the provision of all hygiene services and water coolers. In addition, Incentive QAS will undertake all window cleaning, landscaping and pest control. Twenty- two members of staff will transfer to Incentive QAS, under TUPE, and will undergo an intensive training and development programme.

Servest Secures Training Grant


Facilities management service provider, Servest Group, has obtained a substantial grant from its training partner, The Sarina Russo Group, a government funded training provider of employment skills, to invest in the skills of its dedicated workforce.


Servest will use the funding to offer the City & Guilds qualification in Practical Cleaning Skills to its cleaning operatives who work on contracts in London. Once completed, Servest aims to secure funding to roll out the training programme nationwide.

The training, which will be delivered by a team from Sarina Russo, is based around a 19-hour programme of core practical cleaning skills in different sample environments, including hotel bedrooms, bathrooms, IT server rooms and general office rooms.


The first set of employees to take part in the programme are cleaning operatives working on contracts across London, including the Science and Natural History museums, Hilton Park Lane and all of Servest’s public sector contracts. The aim by summer is to have 150 staff a month complete the programme.
