Connie Quinton Retires After 12 Years

For Connie Quinton 2014

is not only a new year, but it brings a new chapter in her life. On Jan. 2, Connie retired from VVEC where she had been em- ployed for more than 12 years. Quinton was initially hired

on a part-time basis at the elec- tric cooperative in May 2001 and then accepted full-time employment as the switchboard operator in August 2001. She was the voice most VVEC mem- bers heard when they called the co-op for those years. Her co-workers honored her

with a luncheon and cake. Fam- ily and close friends joined the celebration. “Connie has been a delight to work with,” says VVEC General Manager

Alice Houston. “We are certainly going to miss her, but we’re excited for her and want her to enjoy this new phase in her life.”

VOLUME 73 • NUMBER 2 • FEBRUARY 2014 $20.20 What to do if Your Power Goes Off

1. Check your fuses or circuit breakers. Every service is different. You may have fuses or circuit breakers in your house, on the side of your house, under your meter, or all three places. Check to see if your neighbors have electricity.

2. Call the Co-op at 371-2584, or 1-800-870- 5948 if the call is long distance for you. Have your account number, name as it appears on the account, and address handy to give to the dispatcher. If you should get a recording, please don’t hang up; leave your information. It will be retrieved and given to the correct department. Every message is answered.
