MID Lighting’s Space-Line linear extruded luminaire has recently been used in a Central London office space. Suspended just below the ceiling to give a floating appearance, the fittings were constructed to form a continuous Y-Shape along the length of the office. The Y-Shape required careful design in order to space the fluorescent lamps in such a way that they the provided an even illuminance along the length of the diffuser, particularly at the centre of the Y, where the three lamps overlapped.

Mitchells & Butlers have worked with GE Lighting to replace halogen lights delivering a 91% CO2 emission & energy use saving of the lighting systems across its estates. The relamping programme was rolled out through 1600 Mitchells & Butlers’ stores and delivered maintenance cost savings of 69% and operational cost savings of 88%, resulting in a 3 months project payback time. And whilst energy reduction was key, it was also crucial not to compromise the quality of light and customer experience. By installing GE’s high quality LED MR16 lamps, the look and feel of each brand was also maintained.

Leading manufacturer of medical lighting equipment, Daray Ltd, has launched the X340, its new ceiling-mounted examination light specifically designed for use during the medical consultation and diagnosis stages. The X340, a sister product to Daray’s highly successful X240 medical examination light, features an easy-to-manoeuvre spring balanced arm and telescopic ceiling tube, making the light incredibly versatile. The added flexibility means the X340 is ideal for general practice, but with a reach of 1,000mm, it is also ideally suited for gynaecological procedures; a common pitfall for many general-purpose lights on the market.
