Coconut Cherry Balls

INGREDIENTS 1/4 c. coarsely chopped maraschino cherries 1 c. unsalted butter, room temp. 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. coconut extract 2 c. all-purpose flour 1/3 c. shredded coconut 3/4 c. lightly toasted almonds


DIRECTIONS


Drain cherries and chop. Beat butter, powdered sugar and ex- tracts until smooth. Mix in flour shredded coconut and almonds. Add cherries and stir. Wrap and chill dough for 1 hour. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are golden brown. Cool 2 minutes then transfer to wire racks. Roll in powdered sugar.


Fruit Dip

INGREDIENTS 1 (8-oz) pkg. cream cheese 1 jar marshmallow crème Dash of cinnamon Dash of nutmeg


DIRECTIONS Mix all ingredients together well. Serve with slices of fresh fruit.
