NEW SHOWROOM

Fern-Howard is delighted to announce the appointment of Dan King as their new Technical Manager.

MONITORING ENERGY

40 Hager consumer units with MID energy metering have been installed by a social landlord to monitor the energy being consumed in 18 retirement homes. The MID meters allow Bron Afon Community Housing to better monitor and control its energy costs in its homes. The project is part of wider refurbishment plan by Bron Afon, which has pledged to rewire 5,500 homes.

Dave Sharman, Director of Property at Bron Afon said: “There was a vast amount of work to complete to honour our promise to residents. Hager has always ensured that the product was readily available and was at hand to provide technical advice when it was needed.”

As part of a £2 million investment programme, Elstead Lightingʼs new showroom was officially opened by Linda Barker in September to mark the culmination of three years of work and investment for Elstead Lighting. As well as this 9,000 square foot showroom, the company has invested in adding more talent to its already great team of staff, including four young trainees / apprentices, along with additional manufacturing capability at its Alton based facility. Elstead Lighting is now available in more than 25 countries around the world and exports are targeted to become a major activity of the company. ʻʼIt is an exciting time to be in this business right nowʼʼ says Managing Director Jonathan Lucas. ʻʼAs a team of people we have all worked enormously hard, often against the tide, and we can now see many growing signs of opportunity ahead which is reassuring for us all after what has been a truly challenging past four years. It is especially exciting to see products, hand-made in Alton, appearing in showrooms as far and wide as Japan, India, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Russia and Kenya to name but a few parts of the world we are being recognised in. All of the recent investments are the culmination and belief many of us have in British manufacturing and thanks to the support of both local and national business support mechanisms, we see a strong future ahead.”
