America and Latin America – William Le Sante, Managing Director, Le Sante International William’s international development experience goes back to 1985 and, to date, he has been involved in negotiating international agreements in 64 countries. He has published articles on franchise expansion in several international publications and has contributed as a franchise expert for the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal. He has received various key awards related to his contributions to international franchise development and continues to educate future franchise candidates through US Department of State programmes in emerging countries. Mr Le Sante is a member of the IFA’s International Affairs Committee and served as Chairman of the organisation’s International Matchmaker Task Force.


Canada and America – Fred Cox, CEO, National Event Management National Event Management, North America’s leading producer of consumer events, produces 26 franchise shows annually across the United States and Canada (www.franchiseshowinfo.com). The events are well-publicised through a multi-media campaign and are well attended by a targeted audience who are ready to invest.


New Zealand – Vicki Prout, Managing Director, Sherpa Group Vicki’s professionalism and drive has positioned her as an emerging fi gure in global franchising. She has extensive experience in franchising at both national and international levels and her in-depth understanding of franchise marketing, strategic development, legal frameworks, business development, documentation and reconciling the expectations of entrepreneurs in widely differing cultures, has resulted in her continued success.


Italy – Federico Fiorentini, Managing Director, BRD Consulting Federico is the owner of consultants Business Retail Development, and he has assisted in the expansion of the entire Tengelmann group in Italy. In his many years of practice, he has advised numerous large brand owners and has all the necessary contacts in Italy to initiate transactions or open doors.


Australia – Jason Gerhrke, Director, Franchise Advisory Centre Jason has a long involvement in franchising spanning more than 20 years, during which time he has worked in franchisee, franchisor, educator and advisor roles, and been awarded by the Franchise Council of Australia, of which he is a longstanding member. Jason is also an advisory panel member of Australia’s franchise regulator, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). He presents Australia’s largest program of franchise education events, and has been a guest speaker at many franchising conferences in Australia and overseas.


Russia – Victoria Kazakova, Exhibition Director, EMTG The company EMTG played a signifi cant role in establishing franchising in Russia. It has been running the annual exhibition BUYBRAND since 2003. More than 620 concepts are in operation in the country, and one third of their respective owners participate in BUYBRAND exhibitions. The exhibition has become the central annual event in the franchising community, not only in Russia, but also in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Baltic States and Eastern Europe.


International – Farrah Rose, Consultant, The Franchising Centre Farrah has unrivalled experience in international franchising and has been operating in this fi eld since 1984. Initially working for major corporations, Farrah began advising businesses as a consultant in 1996. During this time she has worked with organisations of all types from family businesses to major brands, helping them to expand their businesses into global markets. Farrah is now recognised as one of the leading authorities on international franchising and her expertise is sought by companies around the world.
