SPORTS FLOORING

GO WITH THE FLOW

With a package of products fine-tuned for sporting environments, Flowcrete UK sets the pace for impressive performance underfoot in competition areas, with the optional additions of Isowarm underfloor heating and Isocrete acoustic foam.

A leading system for sports locations, Flowcrete UK’s FlowSport flooring system is a safe, sustainable and sure-footed option. FlowSport delivers a flexible composite surface, which is specially designed for areas including gymnasiums and indoor sports venues.

Court lines and area markings can be applied in internationally recognised colours, and FlowSport also eliminates glare and light reflection. It is also easy to clean and maintain, and provides a cushioned effect that delivers generous spring and give in the floor.

High performance also comes as standard when applied over a suitable base, with FlowSport providing a resilient, uniform, seamless and durable finish, which is hard-wearing, and both abrasion and impact resistant.

Another popular choice for sport and leisure areas is the GREEN Floorzone, another sustainable option from Flowcrete UK. This single-source flooring package offers a complete solution

underfoot, covering every aspect of installation from substrate through to the final floor finish. The package includes choices in seamless resin floor finish and Isocrete self-levelling screed, as well as the energy-saving Isowarm underfloor heating system and noise reducing acoustic layer.

The resin floor finish features a number of sustainable options, including the seamless terrazzo, Mondéco Mirrazzo, which is made up of up to 60% recycled material, and Mondéco Crystal Ice, which has a significant amount of recycled mirror glass to reduce the need for additional lighting. Other resin choices include high grade slip resistance surfaces, which are ideal for wet rooms and changing facilities.

All these seamless resin floor finishes are supported by a choice of seven products from Flowcrete’s market- leading and newly enhanced Isocrete Floor Screeds range, which have been given a green makeover with a new

formulation free from Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), and manufactured from a high percentage of natural and recycled raw materials.

An optional element of GREEN Floorzone involves the Isowarm underfloor heating system, an ideal choice for areas including gymnasiums, entrance receptions, foyers, main areas and changing facilities. The underfloor heating allows complete heat control across the different zones, for example, allowing a gymnasium to be cooler than areas where higher temperatures are required, such as changing rooms. Isowarm also offers energy savings of up to 25% compared to conventional heating systems and – hidden from sight underneath the ground – frees up space.

Another optional feature, which represents the first stage of the floor zone build-up, is Isocrete acoustic foam, which reduces sound transfer between floors in sporting environments.

Alan Dean, Managing Director of Flowcrete UK, said: “FlowSport is a great platform for sporting environments, providing a robust, aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sensitive finish, available in a range of bright colours.”
