STEP 3 Subfloor preparation.


Depending what floor covering you are installing there are initial checks to be made.


• Do I need the subfloor flat (laminate, parquet), smooth (Livyn) or level (wood & laminate)?


STEP 4 Correct product choice.


Provide the customer with a suitable product for the desired location. Many products have limitations, so specify the right one and advise the customer why you have given them


• Correct primer?


• What smoothing/levelling compound do I use?


• Is adhesive needed?


While this list is not exhaustive, it covers some of the basic and most useful questions.

STEP 5 Installation guidelines.


Have you ever actually read the fitting instructions? These are there as a guideline to installing the floor correctly, and to make sure is stays that way for the duration of its life. So


STEP 6 Explaining Maintenance.


After you have installed the QS floor, do you run through the correct maintenance with the end user? Doing this could and will avoid that dreaded phone call, “my floor has failed!” The customer has just paid for a lovely floor to be installed, and wants

many installers would see this as an insult to their professionalism if they had to do this; wrong! This puts you on the right path to a successful installation, avoiding any hiccups. Take a couple of minutes to read through them before you start. After all, they’re there for a reason.
