Poster session highlights quality improvement strategies

Physicians from around the state par- ticipated in and learned from the Texas Medical Association’s first Quality Poster Session at TexMed 2013 in San Antonio, where a field of about 20 entrants (listed below) shared best practices and tech- niques for improving patient care. Sponsored by the TMF Health Qual- ity Institute, the event featured posters depicting strategies physicians use in daily practice that reflect one or more of the six aspects of quality care as defined by the Institute of Medicine. According to those standards, quality care must be safe, timely, effective, equitable, efficient, and patient-centered. This year’s poster projects and award winners were reviewed by TMA’s Council on Health Care Quality.
