doing so. Something we feel is unique in the market right now.

A1 - Many are claiming to have solved the LED dimming issue, how have you done it? TH – Well, fine tuning and of lots of testing! Dimming 100-1% was just one of the goals we wanted to achieve, it was also very important to mimic the round, even dimming curve achieved with the halogen lamps we were seeking to replicate. Performance analysis was essential and through this extensive process we were able to effectively manipulate light level vs control level.

A1 - You claim the light from these fittings warms when dimmed, how have you done this from a single engine? TH – Between the Cree chip set and the bezel of the product is a unique patented reflector which has been coated with a material that not only helps with colour consistency but also warms the beam as the light level reduces.

A1 - You’ve mentioned Integrated by Design, where does lighting fit into this? TH – Lighting is a big factor in building control and a big drain on electricity, therefore, lighting is of crucial importance to integrated building technology. For building management technologies, including lighting, it’s about intelligently allowing for integration and stepping away from merely bolting on systems without thinking of how they will work together and how end-users will be engaging with them.

For example, a client may initially just have an AV installation within their home or office. We would supply anything that was requested but ingrained in our products is the ability to

scale a system up. Therefore, in the eventuality of said client adding a lighting system, we could integrate this with the existing AV and be left with a single system that controls and manages the whole thing; not an AV system and a lighting system working independently, drawing their own power. With a Crestron IbD setup this becomes a reflex action that the system performs independently, allowing a home’s or office’s systems to work seamlessly for the user.
