Siemens Healthcare off ers ultrasound customers hands-on training and education
Fukuda Denshi is pleased to announce a trio of new installations of their high end anaesthesia monitor, the DS-8500. The DS-8500 incorporates Fukuda Denshi’s most
intelligent user interface and allows users to tailor the monitor to meet their specific requirements by offering a full suite of modules as well as a full five-agent gas bench. It is highly versatile and can be mounted as a standalone system or attached to any anaesthesia machine. In addition, all patient data can be collected and viewed at the bedside or central station with its seamless patient record transfer from monitor to monitor via an HS 8000 super module. Fukuda Denshi has installed these state-of-the-art
monitors in: • Lister Hospital, a 480-bed district general hospital in Stevenage, Hertfordshire
• Royal Lancaster Infirmary, a 491-bed hospital in Lancashire
• Scunthorpe General Hospital with over 500 beds in North Lincolnshire
The DS-8500 offers total control of all elements of display and patient condition notification through a variety of sounds and vivid colours. For further information on the DS-8500 anaesthesia range or any of these installations, please contact us:

Siemens Healthcare recently held an ACUSON S2000TM optimisation event in Oxfordshire for ultrasound professionals. The day-long event was tailored specifically to ACUSON S2000 ultrasound system users and provided delegates with a comprehensive overview of the system’s features and offered live demonstrations of a wide range of procedures to further knowledge. Structured presentations were delivered on 2D imaging techniques, the Advanced SieClearTM
application, ultrasound
protocols, system customisation and image archiving to PACS, USB and CD storage mediums. “I found the study day useful as it gave me detailed clinical
and technical insight on how to use the system,” states Andrea McCulloch, Lead Sonographer at John Radcliffe Hospital. “I certainly feel better equipped to use the system after having been on the study day and would attend further courses run by Siemens Healthcare, as well as recommending them to colleagues.” “Siemens Healthcare holds a number of popular study events
across the UK each year. This ACUSON S2000 ultrasound system optimisation event proved a great success,” states Bernadette Leonard, Regional Sales Manager and UK Business Manager, Ultrasound and Echocardiology Products at Siemens Healthcare. “Delegates had the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience of using our ACUSON S2000 ultrasound system, could pose questions and learn best practice for different clinical situations.”
