ShowTex FP Series covers all the bases
According to ShowTex, the wide range of screen surface options within its FP (front-projection) range makes it easy to find the most appropriate projection surface that delivers optimum viewing for any given application. The screens are said to have a remarkably even light distribution over a wide viewing area and are available in XL, mesh, perforated, super matte and blackout finishes. The FP White offers constant gain and an even light spread along with broad viewing angles. Meanwhile, the FP Supermat is a high-gain screen with a smooth, super matte surface which prevents hot spots, and is designed for HD applications. Normal and up-close viewing distance versions are available. Moreover, a perforated version of the screen – the Supermat Perforato – delivers the same performance but with the addition of sound transparency.

ShowTex FP Blackout high-gain screen. This offers a total blackout, preventing projector light spill and interference from ambient lighting. The screen surface is said to ensure the quality reproduction of high- definition (1080p) images. Completing the range is the FP High
Contrast Grey (also available as the High Contrast Grey Perforato), which is designed to enhance contrast ratios, black levels and shadow detailing with minimal impact from ambient lighting. The grey-based surface offers ‘superb’ reproduction of 1080p images. The screens are made from custom-welded high-quality PVC. ShowTex’s in-house screen-welding workshop can produce screens measuring more than 500sqm, with strong seams that the company says are nearly invisible at less than 1mm.

Draper’s Silhouette eases changing screen material
Draper’s Silhouette is billed as a stylish screen that is designed for applications ranging from home cinema to corporate and education. One of the main features of the
screen is that it incorporates a hidden ‘Z bracket’ from which the screen is hung. The screen attaches to a clip, which screws into the support plate. This makes for simple installation. Also, because the roller is easily removable, a different screen material can be fitted should the room’s lighting change, or if the screen needs to be relocated to a different environment. The Silhouette is available with multiple control and operation options, including manual operation via a crank handle, automated operation, and plug-and-play control operations. In addition, the number of screen surface options means it can

meet the needs of any individual room, states the company. The screen is said to look good fitted directly to the wall, and so does not need to be recessed into the ceiling. The casing conceals the mounting fixtures, fasteners, electrical connections and optional controls. The dowel retracts inside the case.
