The U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Shotgun began back in Sep- tember 2011 in Kerrville, Texas, with a National Team Selection Match that provided the first round of scores for Olympic Team hopefuls. Their scores were then combined with the results of a second round of shooting held in Tucson during May 2012. Finally, the combined scores determined a pool of six finalists, who took part in a finals round to determine the team nomina- tions. Four athletes were named to the team at the conclusion of the Tucson match, to join their two teammates who had already been nominated based on the points system.
“I’m thrilled to make another Olympic Team. I’ve learned so much over the last four years and I’m really excited to go back and put those things into place.” Corey Cogdell
