region was rated among the top 10 destinations to visit in 2012 by National Geographic Traveller. Its online training programme with Travel Uni educates agents on its USPs including historic Girona City, fi shing village and beach resort Blanes, and Salvador Dali’s former home Figueres.
The Girona area participated in the Mercat de Mercats (Market of Markets) fair in Barcelona in October to promote agro-food, wine and tourism products of the Girona area. Forthcoming fam trips will focus on showcasing Costa Brava’s varied selling points such as culture, gastronomy, nature, nightlife and activities.
