T e light pink, gently ruffl ed blooms of Pink Lemonade have a fuchsia blotch accenting each petal. Both roses have dark green, very glossy foliage which perfectly off sets the unique blooms. (Var: BEAdonald, aka: Ivor’s Rose) Clus- ters of old-fashioned, cherry-red blooms with a dark pink reverse are proudly dis- played non-stop from spring to fall above dark green, glossy foliage. With a relaxed, open habit, this shrub rose can easily get a bit wild, but a little pruning will ensure it dances only where you want it. Extremely disease resistant. Zone 5 hardy. T is tough shrub performs well across the coun- try, surviving hot and cold temperatures with ease. Introduced as one of the Explorer Series of roses out of Canada, it holds its neat, com- pact habit and fl oriferousness in all climates, a most uncommon feat among shrub roses. Loads of true red, semi-double to double blooms are borne in clusters, produced in an everbloom- ing array from spring to fall. Autumn fi nds the blooms accompanied by round orange hips. Abundant, dark green foliage has topnotch re- sistance to insects and disease. A great choice for both specimen and masss planting. Zone 3 hardy. Grown own root.

Hybridizers have spent years attempting to cross modern roses with Hulthemias, a once-blooming species with a char- acteristic red blotch. Hulthemias are not true roses, just like donkeys aren’t true horses, but there are similarities.
