Steve is a graduate of Wentworth In- stitute of Technology in Boston and the current national past president of the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association and the current president of the Metal Buildings Institute.
Ken Buchinger began working at MBCI in March 1988. He currently is vice president of business development and research & development. Throughout his tenure, he has been responsible for handling fi eld problems, developing weathertightness warranties, erector training, research and development certifi cations, and creation and management of the MBCI installation manu- als and catalogs. Prior to working at MBCI, Ken was co-owner of Whitehouse Construction Co.
Craig developed this seminar with Ron Blank, whose company is focused on building relationships between design professionals and product manufac- turers in a way that is less about sales and more about partnership and an exchange of expertise. He has more than 30 years experience in the fi elds of archi- tecture and construction with 20 of those years dedicated to specifi cations, construction technology and historic restoration. Craig is a nationally known lecturer and author on these topics. Craig also spent eight years perform- ing technical reviews of the SPECTEXT master specifi cation system for The Construction Specifi cations Institute (CSI). He has served as consultant to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) on the MASTERSPEC specifi cation system and as special consultant to CSI on the conversion of civil engineering specifi cations to CSI principles.
