After the election and credentials committee tallied the votes, cooperative attorney Leonard Logan shared the results of the general election with those present at the noon business meeting. Logan explained that each of the three trustees on the ballot had run unopposed and had been successful in their bid to serve another three-year term on the cooperative board. He reported that District #4 incumbent John Myers received 1,280 votes, District #6 incumbent Sharron Gay 1,256 votes and District #8 incumbent Bill Kimbrell 1,232 votes of confirmation. Prizes ranging from electric credits to appliances were presented to cooperative members at the conclusion of the business meeting. Of the more than forty prizes awarded, $500 electric credits went to nine members (one representing each of the cooperative’s nine districts), including: Carl Merit of Fairland (District 1), Leo Eutsler of Grove (District 2), Jake Walker of Bluejacket (District 3), Max Long of Vinita (District 4), Nathan Eller of Afton (District 5), Oak Grove Mennonite Church in Pryor (District 6), Ed Leavitt of Rose (District 7), Tim Billups of Colcord (District 8) and Alfred West of Grove (District 9). Regina Sumler of Afton joined the cooperative’s green power team and had her name drawn as the winner of an iPod Shuffle. Yolanda Dowdy of Jay won a Samsung Blu Ray DVD player as a result of signing up for one of the cooperative’s convenient payment options. A $100 Lowe’s gift card was claimed by Grove’s Bonnie Curlee, who signed up to participate in the co-op’s Opera- tion Round-Up program.
