integrator was set to announce the start of a collaboration with a new manufacturer. “Now the situation in the market is changing, and we decided to increase our offer [with] not only whiteboards but a new system of assessment of education quality,” said a spokeswoman. “Under the new solution we [can] make integrated projects better and more efficient.” Polymedia was the first company to bring interactive whiteboards (IWBs) to the Russian market, some 15 years ago. Since then it has

invested significant resources in the integration of interactive solutions into Russian schools, colleges and universities, and into the educational community as a whole. The company says that it has maintained at least a 40% share of the Russian market for SMART throughout this period, peaking at 45.6% in 2008. “We have always promoted the interactive whiteboard as an intelligent product that requires substantial support,” said Elena Novikova (pictured), Polymedia CEO. “The approach to the promotion of products on the

CEO, felt it was the right time to “do something more tightly integrated” with the AV company.

King added that the move

reflected the convergence of IT and AV solutions in all types of commercial and educational environments. “By bringing Digital Vision into the group, it strengthens our overall solution offerings for all IT and AV requirements,” he explained. Paul Mayhew, founder of Digital Vision – who worked for Square Group over a decade ago – commented: “Today, people are using technology that overlaps IT

and audiovisual, and to try and find an integrator that had a good understanding of both IT and AV solutions is really quite rare within the market. So it made sense that, with Digital Vision growing, we could grow faster by finding the right IT company to help drive the partnership forward.” King finished: “We often get

pigeonholed as purely an Apple reseller, when our business goes a lot deeper than that. Paul will see that our existing clients have the opportunity to see how we can supply new AV solutions for their businesses.”
