PLASA show, highlighting products from AD-Systems, WyreStorm and Behringer EUROCOM. AD-Systems launched the Impulse NT-4 system amplifier, featuring the AVB protocol, at Earls Court. The full range of Behringer EUROCOM products, including utility integrated amplifiers, digital automixers and power

amps, and Wyrestorm’s HD distribution products are now available from Polar, along with Alcorn McBride show control and audio/video solutions. Shure Distribution UK announced the European debut of the ULXD4D and ULXD4Q multichannel receivers for the ULXD Digital Wireless Microphone System.

new bar for RF performance and excellent audio quality along with its intelligent rechargeable batteries and AES256 encryption,” said Tuomo Tolonen, applications and product planning manager at Shure UK. “The addition of the new receivers offer two or four channels of wireless in one rack space, with individual gain controls, LED meters and XLR outputs for each channel.”

TOA unveiled its IR-802

Infrared Wireless Classroom System, which combines a 5in two-way coaxial speaker with a built in 20W Class D power amp and 360º IR sensor ring for reliable pickup from any direction. TOA’s patented Wide-Dispersion Technology provides even coverage throughout the room (a 170º coverage angle within the vocal range when ceiling-mounted at room centre), avoiding dead spots commonly experienced with multi-speaker systems.

LIGHTING/VIDEO Avolites Media showcased Sapphire Media, an intuitive, hands-on show control surface enabling seamless integration of all visual elements. The Sapphire Media control surface connects to Ai Media servers and highlights include two widescreen touch surfaces for easy access to the user interface and Salvation Engine control. Additionally, four switchable and assignable touch preview monitors are available to the system operator. These may be mapped to any inputs, outputs or video layers. The Sapphire Media offers 15 motorised faders for live control, mappable to content triggers, effects or parameters. Also provided is a smooth T-Bar for traditional vision mixing, and direct access buttons, pre-assigned to popular features and functions. All controls may be user configured to produce fully customised functionality. Jands highlighted the

Stage CL, a console designed specifically for LEDs. It provides 12 direct fixture control channels, powerful yet simple storing and a touchscreen interface, all in a compact chassis that can be carried in one hand. CEO Paul Mulholland said: “LED fixtures are rapidly becoming popular as a cost- effective and flexible lighting solution, but until now there

hasn’t been a console that gives you simple direct control of their colour and intensity. We saw that there was a whole group of people who would benefit hugely from the ability to harness the true power of their LED fixtures, that’s what the Stage CL is all about.” Philips Vari-Lite celebrated its 30th anniversary at this year’s event by highlighting the VL3015, VL3015LT and VL3515 Spot luminaires. Built on the product features of the VL3000 Spot and VL3500 Spot, the new models use a high-output, double-ended 1,500W lamp to deliver sharp, clean beams and easy, precise focusing.

The VL3015 and VL3515

each feature a 6:1 zoom optics system, while the VL3015LT boasts 10:1 zoom optics, and both variable frost and a rotating and indexable five-facet prism. All incorporate CYM colour mixing, variable CTO colour temperature correction, gobo/effects wheels and ultra-fast strobe mechanisms. Robewas celebrating after

its Robin DLF Wash fixture won a PLASA Award for Innovation. Based on the same RGBW LED module used in the Robin DLX, the unit has been optimised for users wanting an even light with no shadows. The judges said: “It’s an LED

wash light that behaves like a traditional fresnel. It will fit straight into the lighting toolbox and we can use it. The internal barn doors are exceptional. Beautiful colour mixing, looks like a generic wash light – but it’s LED.” The company also had an

Olympic Torch on its stand which was auctioned off after the awards, raising £6,200 for charity Light Relief. 
