Specsavers everywoman in Retail Award Finalists Announced

UK female business community, everywoman, has announced the finalists of Specsavers everywoman in Retail Awards. The finalists will all be a wonderful demonstration of the exciting opportunities available for women looking to develop a rewarding career in the retail industry. The Awards were originally launched as a way of addressing the lack of women in senior roles in the retail sector by highlighting those women who had already made names for themselves in the industry. Now in it’s fifth year, the Awards are really beginning to help address this imbalance. Maxine Benson MBE, cofounder of

everywoman, states: “These finalists demonstrate that, despite the challenging economic climate, determination, hard work and leadership can underpin commercial success, and they are a shining example to others looking to make their mark.” For a full list of finalists, head to our website, Winners will be announced on 13th September at a ceremony at The Savoy, London.

London Goes Pop!

Popup shops have had something of a revival over the past few years, and this month London will give visitors the opportunity to explore the spontaneity of popup shops and their diverse product

offering. The ‘Pop Spot Festival’, which is running throughout August, will celebrate this alternative approach to retail, which offers entrepreneurs an opportunity to develop a venture without the pressures of longterm leases. The Pop Spot Festival will be celebrating everything from rooftop restaurants to

garage galleries, and will offer those taking place in the festival exclusive deals to celebrate the world of popup retailing. A special Pop Spot App is to be launched at the festival, offering an interactive

guide to the festival itself and beyond, helping users to find their way to various popup events taking place. The festival will take visitors off the beaten track and on an exciting adventure to discover a whole new London retail landscape.
