Organised by European Cities Marketing and the European Tour Operators Association, City Fair, hosted in Wembley Stadium this June, brought together tour operators, tourist boards and suppliers from Europe. Selling Short Breaks and Holidays joint-sponsored the show. Here's a round-up of news from the floor.
Vilnius adds new attractions
Vilinus, capital of Lithuania, has several new attractions and activities available for city breakers. The city now offers sightseeing by
electric bike, with charge points located throughout the city, as well as hot air balloon trips which take off from within the city.
Just 25km outside the city 1984 Survival Drama allows guests to experience what it would have been like to live in a Soviet bunker. Visitors are met by guards with dogs, put on a Soviet threadbare coat and dive into the life of a USSR citizen, including being interrogated by ex KGB officers.

Tallinn’s view to history
Medieval Brugge comes to life
Brugge will open a new attraction this Autumn – Historium. The interactive exhibit takes visitors back 577 years to 1435, the golden age for Brugge, using all five senses.
Visitors follow a love story that brings
Estonian capital Tallinn is excited about its two newest attractions, the Seaplane Harbour museum and Tallinn TV Tower. The Seaplane Harbour is located
on the harbour, close to the suburb of Kalamaja, famous for its wooden architecture. It tells the story of Estonia’s maritime and military history through multi media, simulators and over 100 exhibits, including the British-built submarine Lembit weighing 600 tonnes, which served in World War II under the Soviet flag. An outdoor area contains historic ships, including Europe's largest
steam-powered icebreaker. The 1980s-era Tallinn TV Tower has been renovated and now serves as a museum, restaurant and venue. Visitors start the tour of the 314 metre tower with a 3D film followed by an interactive exhibition about Estonia, before enjoying the country's highest viewing platform and café in the country. Visitors can record video greetings in the television studio and broadcast them globally. Both attractions are free with the
Tallinn Card.

the Middle Ages back to life using film, décor and special effects experienced by sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. The Historium is located on the town square in the heart of the city and will have a beer café and shop with a view over the town square.

London’s a beach
London will feature a permanent beach location on the Thames in Greenwich. The beach is to be Europe's largest man-made beach and will feature entertainment and hospitality. The organisers, Peninsula Festival, plan a number of music and cultural events on the beach as well as exhibition sports such as beach handball and beach rugby.
