Special Events Annual Outdoor Flea Market


Our huge outdoor market plays host to over 100 vendors – from crafts and antiques to baby clothes and collectibles. Find a map of currently available spaces in room 204 at the Lincoln Center. Detailed information is mailed to vendors two weeks prior to the event. Rain date is September 15.

Polar Express! – Wheely Big Trucks


Touch, see and explore trucks and vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Police vehicles, rescue trucks, mini race cars, work trucks and other vehicles will be on display. Talk with Officer Patti, have a ball riding the wheely little trucks and playing in the monster truck jump. Each child receives a wheely great hard hat. Don’t forget your cameras! Register early for a reduced fee.

2nd Annual ‘Old Guys’ Garage Bands Rock!


Bring your garage (or basement) band to play LIVE! at Lincoln Center. All performing bands receive 25% of the gate. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Bands interested in performing should contact staff at the Lincoln Center at 630.963.1300 by September 21.

See our new schedule! All aboard! Families experience a


train ride based on the book “The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg. We leave from the Downers Grove Main Street train station and travel to the North Pole (Aurora train station). Each child receives a golden ticket to commemorate their trip. During the journey professional storytellers read “The


Polar Express” while you enjoy chocolate milk and cookies. Santa Claus boards the train at the North Pole for the return trip. Dress for the weather. Children 11 months & under can travel for free provided they sit on an adults lap. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers cannot be accommodated. Please note on your registration form if you wish to travel with another family. No refunds issued after 12:00 pm Saturday, November 10. A maximum of 6 seats per household may be reserved.

Santa’s Jingle Hotline!


Santa has been very busy this year working with the elves to bring gifts to all of the good boys and girls. Give your child an opportunity to speak to “Mr. C” himself! Download Santa’s Jingle Hotline forms at www.dgparks.org beginning November 9. Completed forms must be received by the Park District no later than Saturday, December 1 at 12:00 pm. Santa will call on Wednesday, December 12 between 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Registration is open to Downers Grove Park District residents only.
