Natural Areas Honey Harvest
Get buzzing and discover the amazing world of honeybees! Take a hike to the Lyman Woods bee hives with our beekeeper to learn all about bees, including their life cycle, their colonies and how they make honey. See first hand how honey is extracted and have a taste of some wild Lyman Woods honey!

Explore the great outdoors by taking part in a program at Lyman Woods! Portions of programs will be held outdoors so please dress appropriately for the weather. In case of inclement weather, classes will be held indoors. Shorts, sandals and strollers are discouraged. In the rare event that a class is canceled due to severe weather, we will attempt to contact you as soon as possible.
Family Programs
Goodnight Twilight Hikes Explore Lyman Woods at night! Hike the trails with a knowledgeable naturalist to explore the nighttime sky, search for nocturnal critters and listen to the sounds of the woods at night. End the evening sharing stories around a roaring campfire complete with marshmallow roasting! Each night will be full of new adventures, so register for all three!

NEW! Lyman Woods Family Overnight
Ever wonder what happens at Lyman Woods after the sun sets? Bring your family for an overnight in the woods! We’ll take a night hike searching for the nocturnal animals of Lyman Woods, search for the stars and planets through our telescope, cook up a campfire snack and tell stories around the campfire. In the morning, we’ll have an early wake-up for a continental breakfast and birdwatching. Bring your own tent and sleeping bags, or contact us for information about gear rentals if you don’t have your own.

SA Trim the Trees
Bring the whole family for some tree-trimming fun at Lyman Woods! We’ll learn all about winter birds while we create homemade ornaments that double as bird feeders. Afterwards, take a guided hike to explore the winter woods and decorate the evergreen trees with your handmade ornaments. Warm up indoors after your hike with hot cocoa and a winter story. Take home a winter bird feeder to decorate your own trees and attract winter birds into your yard!
