Mission Statement

To provide our guests with the best public 9-hole golf course, driving range and clubhouse in the western suburbs and to serve our guests in the very best way we can, every shift, every day.

The historic Downers Grove Golf Club, original site of America’s first 18-hole golf course, was established in 1892 by legendary golf figure Charles Blair Macdonald. Now a 9-hole course, four sets of tees provide a challenging golf experience for average to high skill levels. Yardages for the par-36 course range from 3,280 from the back tees to 2,515 from the forward tees. The course is open to all golf enthusiasts thirteen years of age or older. Younger golfers ages eight and older are welcome to play on a daily basis when accompanied by an adult.
