Garden Plots at Mar-Duke Farm The Mar-Duke Farm garden plots are located at 6800 S. Main Street, between Greenbriar Medical Center and Divine Savior Church. Returning plot registration begins in January; new plot registration begins in March. Plots are 20 x 30 feet. Four elevated plots, 4 x 11 feet are available on a first-come, first-served basis to persons with disabilities and gardeners who cannot work at ground level.


Register for plots and find a map of currently available garden plots in room 204 at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Avenue. The per-plot fee is $25 for residents and $37 for nonresidents. Senior rates for those 62 years and older are $22 for residents and $33 for nonresidents.


College Planning – How to Prepare for The College Experience


Prepare for one of the most important events in your child’s life, the college planning process. You will learn what your child should be doing each year of High School to help strengthen their appearance in the eyes of today’s college admissions officers. Hear what colleges are looking for in prospective students and what effect entrance exam scores and GPA’s have on your child’s chances of being accepted. This class picks up the planning process in the 9th grade and discusses each year of High School, including graduation and what to look for in those college offers before you accept.

Navigating through the college funding process can be a daunting undertaking. This dynamic workshop will walk you through the nuts and bolts of the college admissions and funding process. We will discuss how the aid process really works, including good and bad assets and debt, who really decides your family’s financial need, the IRS vs. your Financial Aid and what types of aid are currently available. Understand the process from filling out the right forms and filing deadlines to comparing aid packages and how to negotiate a better offer. This course will provide you with everything needed to successfully complete the college admissions and funding process.

Designed for childcare providers, teachers and parents, this course focuses on rescue techniques for full arrest victims from newborn to 12 years of age. This course covers medical emergencies, hemorrhage control, splinting and environmental emergencies. This class also focuses on what to do before emergency medical services arrive. Certification is valid for two years.
