Nature Photojournalism In a perfect match of writing and


photography, this course teaches you to have a “photographic eye” and a writing style that is equally artistic. Participants write poetry, stories and nonfiction expository papers to accompany the pictures taken on “nature photo shoots.” Students then combine these to create beautifully polished articles worthy of National Geographic. Take full advantage of the fall colors and learn outside with Nature Photojournalism.

Fear writing no longer! Students gain the skills needed to become successful writers in an engaging and exciting setting. Utilizing the Six-Traits writing technique, students will be guided through the writing process in multiple genres. Students will be given the tools they need to

Reading Laboratory


Become a great reader in the Reading Laboratory! Learn how to get the most out of what you read. This class focuses on reading comprehension and fluency. Students will learn the explicit reading strategies of: questioning, predicting, connections, inferring, summarizing and synthesizing, through the use of fun and engaging reading selections. Students gain the skills and tools needed to improve their grades and increase standardized test scores. Most importantly it will teach each child that reading can be incredibly fun and rewarding throughout his/her whole life.
