Youth Sports & Leagues Horsemanship Instruction
Join us at Arabian Knights Farm to learn about the magnificent beauty and versatility of the Arabian horse. Learn the basics of horsemanship so you can interact safely and confidently around horses. Long pants and closed-toe shoes with a one-inch heel are required for riding. Helmets are provided. Please arrive for each session 15 minutes early to check in and meet the instructors.

Level 1: Beginner Horsemanship Students will learn about safety around horses, breeds, colors, anatomy, eyesight and how to halter and lead a horse. On week two, the students begin balance exercises on horseback at the walk.

Students will review and expand their skills learned in the Level 1 class. There will be a demonstration by our AKF youth and amateur riders on the different styles of riding. Level 3: Advanced Horsemanship Students continue to review and practice all of the skills learned in Level 1 and Level 2. At Level 3, the students “take the reins” and learn basic control and steering at the walk and the trot. Students receive an AKF Horseman Certificate to wear during this level to acknowledge their status as an AKF rider. Class #

Youth & Adult Karate
Learn the martial art of Japanese Karate taught by instructors from the Illinois Shotokan Karate Club under the direction of four-time National Champion and U.S. Karate National Coach John DiPasquale. Participants gain discipline, confidence, flexibility and stamina as well as learning self-defense. Punches, blocks and kicks are covered in these classes. No class November 24.

Parent/Child & Adult Karate
Share quality time with your child while developing muscle tone, coordination, cardiovascular fitness and karate skills. Regardless of age, weight or current physical condition, karate can put your family on the right track to physical well-being. This program is open to individual adults.
