Financial support for your conferences and training days

T

hinking of organising conferences or training for 2012 and beyond. Mondale Events specialises in contributing financially and helping with

the organisation of your next headteachers, teachers, CPD training, ICT, or administration conference or meeting. • Do you want a contribution to some or all of your venue and refreshment costs?

• Do you need a contribution to key speaker costs? • What about assistance in finding suitable venues and marketing to your delegates?

• Do you need access to better quality venues and speakers at no extra cost?

• Do you want to save time and reduce budget costs by working together with Mondale on your next event? Mondale already works with schools and

councils in Hull, East Riding,West Berks, Oxford, Waltham, Coventry and many other areas across the country. “There must be a catch!” That’s a typical first

comment from local authorities or other event hosts when they hear of the benefits of engaging our services. Mondale Events is a specialist supplier of

quality exhibitions, conferences and events throughout the UK. A high percentage of these

are delivered to the education sector and are run in association with local authorities or headteachers’ and teachers’ associations. Other organisations we work with include university departments, schools, colleges, dental associations, hospitals, ICT and pharmaceutical companies. Our focus is always on providing a forum for

suppliers of a wide range of products and services to meet their target audience in one day and at one venue. So why is there the initial fear and scepticism?

Well, if engaging a supplier, one usually expects them to come at a price – but not in this instance. Mondale does not charge the event hosts for

the support we offer. Furthermore, in most cases, we actually reduce the costs of the event for the host. For example, we are often able to negotiate preferential terms with venues for day delegate rates, room hire and other associated costs. In most cases, Mondale will make a contribution (in part or in full) to these costs – and no, there isn’t a catch!

This is made possible because we can engage

with suppliers keen to take the opportunity to meet end users with decision-makers and end-users within education. In addition to the financial benefits, there are

organisational benefits. There is no substitute for experience and being able to draw on our expertise and experience allows us to provide support in the design, construction and preparation of your conference, ensuring the flow of the day provides the appropriate levels of concentrated time, networking time, and relaxed time. If you have selected a topic for the day, but

don’t have the contacts to deliver your plans, then Mondale can call upon its network of speakers to ensure your delegates are benefiting from some of the most experienced and well known names in the sector. New topics are coming along all the time,

depending upon the latest initiatives from the Department of Education, but there is typically a

strong focus on ICT, along with areas such as maths, literacy, behaviour management and leadership. We have expertise and can help you with events covering all these areas and more. In order for an event to be successful, there

are four groups that need to be considered in the planning and delivery. The Host – whether a local authority, a

headteachers’ association or other body, the organisation that is putting on the day must feel it has delivered what it set out to achieve, much of which will be based upon the feedback of delegates. The Delegate – headteachers, deputy heads,

ICT managers, teaching assistants, administrative staff etc. Often delegates will have paid to attend an event (or their school will have paid on their behalf) and they are taking time away in the hope of learning and developing new ideas. So speakers, seminars and workshops need to be relevant to the theme of the day, generating thought, discussion and ideas that can be taken back with a view to improving their schools further. The exhibition or “marketplace” must provide delegates with ideas, products and services, which similarly focus on the improvement of their schools and ultimately benefitting their pupils. The Exhibitor – if it weren’t for the exhibitors,

then many conferences wouldn’t happen. Hence, it is important that delegates take the time to have a look at what is on display, speak to exhibitors and learn what is available in the market, even if they do not have the need or budgets immediately to hand. Similarly, we need the hosts to promote the importance, purpose and benefit of the exhibition when they are marketing their events; it really makes for a better day for all concerned. Finally, there’sMondale. Of course, every event

has to be commercially viable. If this is not the case, the day runs the risk of falling short of everyone’s expectations.
