FASHION CAREER SEMINARS
DESIGN & TREND (AGE 16+)
Students will learn how the speakers
launched their careers in design and trend and have the opportunity to place their burning questions to the experts. They’ll discover how to fi nd work experience, top tips to becoming a budding designer and the best/worst things about working in fashion.
STYLING (AGE 16+) Meet industry experts who have
worked on fashion shoots, TV and fi lm. Students will learn how our speakers launched their careers in styling, what it’s really like to work on a fashion shoot, tricks of the trade and how to get your foot on the fashion ladder.
FASHION ILLUSTRATION (AGE 16+)

Students will discover the techniques and tools to creating beautiful and engaging illustrations, helping to perfectly demonstrate their fi nal vision, whilst capturing the imagination of the person appreciating their work. Hosted by a panel of inspirational speakers and experts students will have the chance to listen to their advice and view their previous work.

Mark Charles, Luxury Footwear Designer. London-based luxury boot Designer Mark Charles has his own label of high-end ladies footwear, which launched in 2011, as seen at London Fashion Week. Mark recently captured his knowledge of the fashion world in his e-book ‘The Fashion Designer Guide’.

PLANNING YOUR CAREER (AGE 13+)
Aimed at students who are still at school through to university, this seminar focuses on how students can prepare for a
career in fashion, including, options to consider at GCSE and A-level, useful subjects to study further and an insight into the various career options behind the scenes.
Ella Pearce Heath, Freelance Stylist. Ella has worked on a huge variety of styling projects for fashion, music and TV clients, including Britain’s Got Talent, Vanity Fair, British Vogue, and 125 magazine. She has also worked as Fashion Assistant on The Daily Mail.

Melanie Bainbridge, Designer. After graduation Melanie launched her own womenswear range and then went on to work as an in-house designer for several young fashion brands and retailers, including Levis, Fat Face and Boxfresh (where she was Head of Womenswear), before joining Miss Selfridge in 2007 as Design Manager on casualwear.
