New Facility Fork Lift Trucks

Flight of the Phoenix N

amed the Phoenix Suite, the investment has helped the fork lift truck distributor to develop a service that

goes far beyond supplying and servicing materials handling equipment alone. Thanks to its partnership with Yale Europe Materials Handling and new technology, Briggs can assist customers in the planning stages of new facilities, from fl ooring, to rack- ing right through to the handling equipment. Briggs’ warehouse operations are led by Mark Murfet, who explains: “It is more important than ever for companies to get the most out of their assets and storage space; avoiding the risk and additional costs associated with equipment not suited to their unique working environment.

“The Phoenix Suite helps us to advise on the right solutions, and at the heart of it is Yale’s 3D simulation chair and software that devel- ops the most practical and effi cient layout for customers’ facilities as well as scenario testing

iftWeigh has been developed to meet all essential criteria for retrofi t fork lift truck weighing systems. The system comprises

two weigh assemblies which fi t side-by-side directly on standard forklift carriages without the need for any mechanical alterations to the forklift. The forks hook onto the weigh- ing units and robust, fully protected cable assemblies are connected via a junction box to the onboard weight indicator. Weightron Bilanciai claims that LiftWeigh provides far better performance than systems based around the forklift’s hydrau- lics, but unlike these systems, can be easily transferred from one forklift to another. Weightron’s sales director Emlyn Roberts believes LiftWeigh is the most accurate and

Richard Close, CEO of Briggs Equip- ment UK, commented: “The Phoenix Suite takes us another step towards leading the way in warehouse solutions. With advanced Yale warehouse equipment coupled with the world-class levels of service that we deliver, this makes us a unique partner in the industry.” n

We have a product that is proven to work long-term in such environ- ments. LiftWeigh is extremely easy to fi t and provides exceptional trade-approved accuracy of 0.04% of weighed load.” Compatible with Class II, III and IV carriages, LiftWeigh is available in 2.5 and 4.5 tonne capacities. The system has high resistance to shock and side loads. A range of weight indicators is available, and the optional wireless data transmis- sion capability allows communication between the forklift and base station. n
