Less frequent fi lter changes with Mahle’s new innovation

International fi ltration company Mahle has launched another innovation in dust fi lter technology. Its new pleat distance technology – the Mahle Nocke system - promises to increase fi lter performance by up to 44%.

The new technology focuses on pleat distance control incorporating ingrained ridges within the media. The real benefi ts of this advancement are that cleaning effi ciency is dramatically improved and the total fi lter surface area is available resulting in longer life. This longer fi lter life, up to 44%, produces cost savings for the user through reduced down time, reduced maintenance and less frequent replacements. The consistent low pressure drop also reduces the need for system adjustments thereby providing the required extraction for longer periods of time.

Weigh and register waste

Modern production management also means an accurate management of the waste fl ow in your company. Monitoring waste fl ow is nowadays possible with mobile weighing systems and data handling

hardware WLAN systems.

For its waste management targets, two JCB Teletruk forklifts equipped with RAVAS weighing systems have been purchased. The key advantage is that there is no loss of time involved, the operator lifts and weighs the waste products in one action. The only extra handling is the selection of the pickup location from a predefi ned scroll list.

All data is stored in an on-board terminal and when the Teletruk is within reach of the WLAN router, a connection is made to the supervisors PC and the data is transferred to a dedicated fi le on a server from the customer. This data can be transferred to a spread sheet program or automatically transferred to the customers ERP system for further processing of the data. n

SIZING MATERIAL More business for Mogensen

Mogensen has received an order for a further Type S2056 Sizer from the El Nasr phosphate rock processing plant in Egypt. The new machine, to be delivered in August, is to be used to supplement the two machines currently in operation and increase capacity. Mogensen’s connection with the El Nasr plant goes back 28 years. Two S2056 sizers lined with wear-resistant vulcanised rubber were delivered in 1984; they operated successfully under very arduous conditions meeting all specifi ed requirements for 17 years. In 2001 they were replaced by two identical machines, which have

continued the previous satisfactory performance. The feed to the sizers is an abrasive phosphate rock slurry delivered from a rotary crusher via a trommel fi tted with 30mm aperture screen panels. Each Sizer takes 150tph of <30mm rock in 150tph water and makes a separation at 1.5mm, 60% of the feed being less than the separation size. Oversize material is recycled via a cone crusher to the machines thus increasing the feed rate by an estimated 50%. Mogensen reports that this continuing business at El Nasr results from the advantages offered by the sizers’

screening technique, which is based on using a bank of relatively steeply declined decks with apertures greater than the aimed-for separation size; typically, the bottom deck aperture is twice the separation size. The large open area available for material fl ow allows the Mogensen machine to process a much larger volume of feed than would be possible using a conventional screen occupying the same fl oor area. The machine is much lighter than would be the case with a conventional screen of the same capacity and power consumption is comparatively low. n

companies in the region.

Jim Blanchard, commercial director, Finedoor, commented: “This new joint venture is an investment which refl ects our commitment to the region which we have worked in since Finedoor was established in 1984. With a large base of customers who we regularly trade

facilitate offi ce accommodation, storage facilities and a large workshop. with, it made common sense to take this step to further improve our offering to them. Additionally, we shall also look to increase our product portfolio in the Middle East over the course of next few years, which will include long term agreements with companies, such as Harpscreen in the UK.” The new Quarry Tec (1000 m²) facilities have been designed to

screen and crusher parts etc. Currently, Quarrytec is completing a project to construct a major industrial recycling plant. The equipment supply includes a mobile crusher, material handling equipment, Eddy Current Separator and an Envirofl o dust collection system which is currently being shipped from the UK to Dubai for assembly on-site. n
