company can now offer its customers a legal for trade weight ticket when it collects their scrap metal while still on their site. West Midlands based Environmental
Waste Management Services (EWMS) buys and sells considerable amounts of high value non-ferrous metals such as cop- per, lead, stainless steel and aluminium. Before the company fitted the Sureweigh skip weighing system, the driver would need to visit a weighbridge to verify the weight of the full skip and then get a ticket for the customer. Generally,
this meant that the skip full of scrap metal would need to leave the customer site, to be weighed, with the weight ticket or receipt delivered to the customer at a later date. By using a legal for trade skip weighing system, the skip can be weighed at the point of collection and a weight ticket given before the scrap metal leaves the customer’s site. Says Stephen Lewis, director at EWMS:
