Industry Update THE BMA COLUMN
Maintaining market share I
ECF Strengthen Sales and Marketing teams
East Midlands based furniture components manufacturer and distributor ECF have strengthened their Sales and Marketing teams with key appointments both internally and externally. The appointments serve to further reinforce ECF as a nationwide supplier to the UK furniture industry and provide its customers with increased service levels.
t’s a well recognised and undisputed fact that the pace of change in bathroom retail is accelerating.
Those in the know are fully aware that if they are to maintain their market share they now have to embrace a variety of multi-channel routes to market in order to maintain existing (and attract new) customers. Bathroom manufacturers who have traditional routes to market through merchants and distributors are finding it difficult to revise their business model. It is hugely difficult to understand how bathroom sales and marketing will develop.
In less than a decade the internet has taken a real grip of how bathrooms are purchased. Many of us now trawl the internet, from the comfort of our own armchair, to view the latest styles and designs. We let our fingers do the hard work before we make a choice.
Some of us will go ahead and order direct off the website. Others will back up the choice with a visit to the local showroom. And some of us go for a half-way house, ordering direct from the web with a click and collecting from the showroom built with brick.
‘The BMA has long recognised that for manufacturers to maintain or grow their market share they have to embrace the radical changes being brought about by the internet and social media,’ comments Yvonne Orgill, CEO. ‘To help our industry get a grip on the latest trends we have dedicated this year’s Bathroom Conference to that very subject.” The Annual Bathroom Conference, Exhibition, Gala Dinner and Media Awards are being held on 9 October 2012 at Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire.
Anyone in the KBB industry is welcome to listen, debate, and discuss The Retail Revolution. A choice of delegate packages is available. Keep up with the latest conference news at
