Month 2012 IMHX 2013 Linde confirmed for IMHX 2013


Linde Material Handling has confirmed it is to participate as an exhibitor at IMHX 2013, the UK’s biggest event for the intralogistics industry. The German forklift manufacturer has taken a large stand in Hall 20 of Birmingham’s NEC. Speaking exclusively to SHD Magazine, Linde’s director of sales and marketing, Andrew Daly (pictured), said: “Closer engagement with our customers, providing them with efficiencies, cost reduction and greater flexibility have been a key focus for us at Linde, and IMHX gives us the ideal platform to demonstrate these values and the full breadth of our capabilities to both our customers and prospects.” Rob Fisher, IMHX event director for Informa Exhibitions,the event’s co-owner (with BITA) said: “Linde’s commitment to participate at IMHX further underlines its place as one of Europe’s top events for our industry. TRUCKS Norbert trials hybrid vehicle


Norbert Dentressangle has taken delivery of the first Renault Trucks 26 tonne hybrid vehicle in the UK as part of the company’s commitment to testing alternative technology to reduce


greenhouse gas emissions across its transport operations.


The Renault Premium Distribution 310.26 6x2 rear steer hybrid will be undergoing operational trials with Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services and will operate from its Specialist Services Aylesford site. The truck will be used to make shared-user network deliveries for a range of customers in and around London, where its low noise will be particularly suitable for night-time deliveries.

that delivers a significant reduction in fuel consumption of around 20% and is up to 50% quieter than their normal counterparts. The electric motor drives fuel efficiency by powering the vehicle from 0 to 12mph (25km/h) before the conventional diesel engine seamlessly takes over. Depending on the delivery route, it can use its electric motor to travel short distances (around 2km) silently at speeds of up to 12mph (25km/h) with zero emissions and can be used most effectively for urban operations.”

The announcement follows last month’s revelation that the floorspace available to exhibitors has been increased by 20% to accommodate demand. The level of contracted space is already approaching that booked in 2010, and with nine months to go


before the tri-annual event, the 2013 staging looks set to be a sell-out. “Exhibitor feedback from 2010 shows that IMHX delivers excellent leads and prospects,” says Rob Fisher. “It’s unequivocally Europe’s leading materials handling event. As a result very little space remains unsold for 2013, in spite of an expanded footprint for next year’s event.” IMHX 2013 takes place on March 19th 22nd.
