Six ways to make luxury tourism a true experience
Luxury tourism is a rising trend within the Chinese travel industry, as is the desire to explore internationally. Whilst this tendency for luxury travel spawns new consumption demands, their perception of luxury is significant and unique. Whilst discovery is high on their agenda, they prefer to explore and learn the realities of living in another country through an experience that is rich in culture.
Chinese tourists designate a high level of their attention to the quality of the hotel, food and shopping during their trip. Residing in a villa with a private swimming pool, enjoying a memorable dinner at a reputable restaurant, or embarking on a shopping extravaganza in a country where these luxury brands originate – are valued attributes to Chinese elite travellers.
Our opinion is that, if travel consists of six aspects, namely, eating, living, transporting, visiting, entertaining and shopping, then the luxury experience is achieved through superior service in each of these fields. For luxury Chinese consumers, unique service is how luxury travel is defined.
