The creation of Baillie Lodges in 2003 was a natural progression, with aims to set new benchmarks in Australian luxury experiential travel. Capella Lodge on World Heritage-listed Lord Howe Island launched the collection, followed by Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island, Australia’s first true luxury lodge experience.

Filip Boyen, Chief Operating Officer, Orient-Express Hotels Ltd, joined the Company in 1998. In his present role, he has operational responsibility for all the company’s hotels, restaurants, trains and cruises, with a focus on profitability, quality assurance and service standards. He was appointed VP, Africa, Australasia and Latin America for Orient-Express in October 2005. Prior to this, Filip was Managing Director of Orient-Express Hotels Peru, responsible for running the company’s four hotels and railway transportation business, PeruRail.

Sarina Bratton founded Orion Expedition Cruises in 2004 and serves as Managing Director of the company. The ships Orion and Orion II as well as the company are held in the highest regard in Asia Pacific for sustainable tourism development. Bratton has held many senior management positions within the cruise industry as well as senior board positions within Australian governments, including Australian Maritime Safety Authority (deputy chair) and Australian Trade Commission. Sarina has received numerous awards including Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award for her ‘entrepreneurship and vision’.

Divia Thani Daswani is editor of Condé Nast Traveller magazine, which launched in India in October as a bimonthly title catered to the upmarket Indian traveller. Divia has worked extensively in publishing, to bring in titles such as Vogue and Time Out to the country. She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.

Leonardo Ferragamo, as CEO of Palazzo Feroni Finanziaria, guides the diversified investments of the Ferragamo Group among which he chairs the Lungarno Hotels SpA. Previous to this he was devoted to the development and commercialisation of the Ferragamo product. Leonardo, who has a lifetime passion for sailing, is also chairman of Nautor Holding and of Nautor’s Swan and chairman of the board of Camper & Nicholsons. In December 2011 Leonardo received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ assigned to him by the International Star Diamond in the hospitality sector.
