much success. `We are excited to have Denise on our editorial team, and we know she will help us grow all our magazines and websites. She has a tremen- dous passion for the written word and is already working on ideas for our fall edition, which will be our one-year anniversary issue. In this issue, we celebrate the summer’s fun-in-the-sun activities. Tere’s

a lot to enjoy in the outdoor living rooms of Mount Pleasant and our sister islands, including paddleboarding. You’ve probably seen paddleboarders ma- neuvering through the waters of the Lowcountry as you’ve driven over Shem Creek or relaxed at the beach. Once you read our article on paddleboarding, you might want to experience the adventure of this fast-growing sport. Since we are getting closer to the beginning of this year’s hurricane sea- son, we’ve included an interview with our local meteorologists. In 1989, just after Hurricane Hugo swept through the Lowcountry, we published a 100-page documentary – Storm Of Te Century. On page 17, you’ll find snippets of firsthand accounts of the devastation, written by people who lived through the disaster. You can read their entire stories at
www.MountPleasantMagazine.com/ HurricaneHugo. Tere’s a lot more in this issue, in- cluding articles on Mount Pleasant resi-
dents who are contributing to the success of the PGA tournament, the “Army Wives” episode recently filmed in Mount Pleasant, our very own Elise Testone and her success on “American Idol” and much more, including information about local medical professionals and restaurants. I thank everyone at Media Services for working as a team to bring our
readers this magazine online, at
www.MountPleasantMagazine.com/green, and in print. I thank our advertisers, who see the value of investing their advertis- ing dollars in our magazine, and I thank our tens of thousands of readers – many of them have taken the time to voice their positive comments about the magazine over the past nine months. Enjoy this issue of Mount Pleasant Magazine and the summer fun to come.
