(GlidersGirls 6 to 13 years) Designed for girls with previous gymnastics experience who can execute cartwheels and handstands. Amy Shearer
has been with the Downers Grove Park District for over 11 years and is currently the Gymnastics Coordinator, Lead Gymnastics Instructor and Twisters Team Head Coach. Amy started her coaching career as a YMCA Gymnastics Instructor and was a YMCA national team coach. She was a competitive gymnast for many years and was a member of the Downers Grove South Gymnastics Team. Amy has a Bachelor’s degree from UIC in Physical Education (kinesiology) and Coaching and she also coaches at the UIC Gymnastics Camp in the summer. We are happy to have Amy as part of our team and look forward to her continued success with the gymnastics program.

Twisters Team (Invitation only)
The summer session focuses on competitive routines for autumn competitions. All gymnasts who wish to compete are required to participate in this session. Additional fees are required for participation in meets, leotards and other team expenses. Parents are asked to volunteer for one home meet. Gymnasts must practice on Tuesday and Thursday to register for Saturday practice. New team members enrolled in this session will not be eligible for competition.
