oin us at Arabian Knights Farm to learn about the
magnificent beauty and versatility of the Arabian horse. Learn the basics of horsemanship so you can interact safely and confidently around them. Long pants and closed toe shoes with a 1 inch heel are required for riding. Helmets are provided. Please arrive for each session 15 minutes early to check in and meet the instructors. Participants must be 8 years of age by the first day of class. Demonstrations take place on the visit day of the third session. Age: 8 & up

LEVEL 1: Beginner Horsemanship (B) Students will learn about safety around horses, breeds, colors, anatomy, eyesight and how to halter and lead a horse. On week two, the students begin balance exercises on horseback at the walk.
LEVEL 2: Intermediate Horsemanship (I) Students will review and expand their skills learned in the Level 1 class. There will be a demonstration by our AKF youth and amateur riders on the different styles of riding. Students will learn nutrition, grooming and tacking and continue balance exercises at the walk and trot.
LEVEL 3: Advanced Horsemanship (A) Students continue to review and practice all of the skills learned in Level 1 and Level 2. At Level 3, the students “take the reins” and learn basic control and steering at the walk and the trot. Students receive an AKF certificate to acknowledge their status as an AKF rider.

Do you love playing baseball or softball? Then this league is for you. Come out and join this exciting recreational summer co-ed baseball/softball league. Participants go through an age-based evaluation, then are split into teams and play two games a week with instruction on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. All games are played in the morning between 9:00 am and Noon. A green and yellow DGPD Athletic T-shirt is required for a team jersey. Each player is required to bring their own glove, bat, baseball pants, and water bottle. The goal of this league is to have fun while teaching the game of baseball and softball. Two coaches are on the field at all times and will help instruct players. The final week will be our Downers Grove Park District World Series. Each player receives a schedule of game times after the evaluation week. Fridays will be used for rain make-ups. Day:
