Requirements: equivalent qualification. Applicants will be ranked in order of merit based on academic attainment. International students are required to meet an English language standard equivalent to TOEFL (560) / IELTS (6.0).
Closing Date: Closing date for receipt of completed application forms is 1 May 2013. Late applications may be considered subject to places being available.
A one year conversion programme for non-business graduates
Course Overview
GMIT School of Business offers a postgraduate programme, Higher Diploma in Business (Level 8), to non-business graduates.
The overall aim of the programme is to provide a broad-based business education, emphasising the disciplinary areas of Accounting/Finance, Economics, Management and Marketing, to honours graduates from the disciplines of Engineering, Science, Arts and Humanities.
Graduates of this programme will gain knowledge, skills and competences that will complement their primary qualification, enabling them to both compete more successfully in the job market, or establish their own business ventures, developing their business acumen.
It is a one-year programme for full-time students but the award may also be pursued under the ACCS or part-time mode.
What Will I Study? The programme will be delivered in two distinct parts:
• Part 1 - an intensive 2 week bridging programme, in which participants will be exposed to the disciplines of Accounting/Finance, Economics, Management and Marketing. The aim of the bridging programme is to develop a good understanding of the fundamental business subjects in preparation for the Level 8 programme.
