UK hosts Education World Forum

general of BESA, told Technology in Education: “Education is a crucial factor in national and global economic health –a country’s strongest resource for its future economic stability and success lieswith its young people. “In the shadowof a global


economic crisis and regions experiencing political change there can be no better time to


focus our best efforts on education and collaboration. The EWF gives us a platform to share expertise and establish a cooperative, future-proof approach to education.” The delegates’ programme


included a visit to the BETT ShowatOlympia. KevinWatkins, senior


fellow, Centre forUniversal Education, told the conference that theworld governments needed to contribute billions of dollars to ensure that theywould meet their 2000 pledge for universal primary education for theworld’s children by 2015.

conference at the show, Paul Dunne,managing director of Emap Connect, organisers of the show, told Technology in Education the reasons for the move from Olympia.He said: “BETT has been held at Olympia for the past 25 years of its 28 year existence. However,we have outgrown the exhibition venue both physically and figuratively. We needed a recognised, world-class venue and ExCeL fits this bill.”

the date of the show has been changed. BETT 2013will be held from30 January to 2 February 2013. Book it in your diary NOW.
