Steve Dyer, Easyklean Klean break

An Easyklean franchise brings secured cleaning contracts and a fl exible working day

INVESTMENT LEVEL: £15,000 E

asyklean has provided contract cleaning services since 2004 to a whole spectrum of customers including pubs, restaurants, clubs, bars and offi ces. The Easyklean business model is

subject to constant review and development so that franchisees benefi t from the company’s considerable knowledge and customer base. Steve Dyer, 28, has recently taken up an Easyklean franchise in Swindon:

Where did you fi rst hear of Easyklean? I worked in a lounge-bar/restaurant where Easyklean had been providing cleaning services and started chatting to one of the fi eld support team staff during one of their routine additional services. I had always been impressed with the professional approach of Easyklean staff and the support they gave us and expressed an interest in franchising to their head offi ce. Following some initial enquiries, I received a call from the franchise manager who arranged a get-together to discuss the franchise opportunity. After a couple of meetings, I enrolled on the training course and, as they say, ‘the rest is history’.

What impressed you about the company? Easyklean’s professional approach to cleaning and customer service – it is rare these days to fi nd people that do what they say. The Easyklean training and support staff introduced me to products and cleaning

methods that really do make a difference and that they have been using for years. I use these same methods today, making sure I keep my customers’ venues in tip-top condition.

So why did you take on a franchise? Easyklean guaranteed, and successfully secured, business for my franchise in the area I live.* The company also mentor me, helping me grow and develop my franchise and meet the agreed business plan. I built my business

“Easyklean instil the belief that if you understand your business thoroughly, growth will be easier and come much more quickly”

by recruiting cleaners to service the venues I had initially cleaned myself. Easyklean instils the belief that if you understand your business thoroughly, growth will be easier and come much more quickly. Following a customer referral, I signed a new contract myself – rather than purchase it from Easyklean – therefore increasing my profi tability. The future looks great for my business.

What ongoing support is provided? Easyklean takes care of all invoicing and

Why did you choose Easyklean? Easyklean guarantees the business and contracts. One of my clients sold his premises for development. When I informed Easyklean Operations, the sales team signed another contract close by so I did not lose any revenue. The brand is very strong and has a great reputation for a quality service.

What do you like most about being your own boss? I love the freedom the business brings me. It is very rare I work after 12.30pm. This leaves me the afternoon and evening free to enjoy my leisure interests and spend time with my young family. I have in fact taken up golf – something I’ve always wanted to do but the nine-to-fi ve did not allow me the time. I feel I have a very secure future in an industry that is reasonably recession proof – a couple of my friends have been made redundant recently and are struggling to fi nd work, but let’s face it – pubs, restaurants, clubs, offi ces and bars will always require cleaning!

Would you recommend an Easyklean franchise to others? One of my friends was made redundant and is currently talking to Easyklean about a franchise. He is scheduled to spend time with their fi eld support staff and the training course. Easyklean have already secured two new cleaning contracts in preparation for him starting his new business. So in a word – yes!

What do you fi nd most diffi cult in the business? It is no different to any other business or job, really. As soon as I start the the van, I become focused on providing another day of quality service to my customers. I get the rewards I deserve for my hard work and dedication and It helps knowing that I am building something for myself that will benefi t me in the long run. 
