“St Julian’s is still very up and
coming. Clients love the diversity of the hotels – deluxe resorts, three-star, boutique –the huge range of dining and the nightlife. “Young couples love Malta for its

My Gozo... by Laura Gelder
“As soon as I stepped off the ferry in Gozo I had a sense of stepping back in time. Gozo is markedly different from Malta – even its retro buses are grey rather than orange and the scorched landscape is punctuated by more greenery. “With the sun high in the sky, we jumped in a jeep and let the fresh, fragrant air cool us as we bumped along rough tracks. We swept along headlands carpeted with wild pink and purple flowers, looking down on cornflower-blue bays with yellow sand and striped umbrellas. “Silent villages revealed the odd snoozing dog outside green-painted doors. And when we stopped in Xlendi village, the quayside had a more relaxed bustle to it, with locals and tourists sipping their beer side by side.”
