Spotlight on Ardgillan
A new Holistic Centre opens soon at the Gardener’s House in the Rose Garden at Ardgillan Demesne offering workshops in rekki, bio energy, Thai Chi, yoga, pilates, personal fitness training, baby massage and nutrition. Therapeutic massages including aromatherapy, acupuncture, shiatsu, Indian head massage, reflexology, and hypnotherapy will also be available. Holistic practitioners in the area are invited to get involved in the new centre.
Malahide Castle & Gardens to Relaunch Summer 2012
Minister for Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar TD and Mayor of Fingal Cllr. Gerry McGuire officially launched the Malahide Castle and Gardens Redevelopment Project at a tree planting ceremony on 3rd February last.
The ¤10million redevelopment is jointly funded by Fingal County Council (¤6.25million) and Fáilte Ireland (¤3.75million), and will provide 100 jobs during construction and another 100 jobs when open. Well known food and home company Avoca open a new store and restaurant at Malahide Castle this summer. Malahide Castle & Gardens reopens to the public in June 2012. The Demesne, playground and pitches remain open during the redevelopment.
Ardgillan provides the perfect backdrop for a civil wedding. The sumptuous entrance hall, luxurious dining room & rose gardens make it an ideal venue for wedding ceremonies.
Children’s parties at Ardgillan are extra special. Party guests are transformed into knights and princesses and entertained for 2 hours with a treasure hunt, mini-disco, party games, and a few castle ghosts thrown in for good measure!
School Tours to Ardgillan are more popular than ever since Bigfoot was spotted on the grounds of Ardgillan. Interactive educational talks and nature trails of the park are ideal tours for all primary schools. The Bigfoot Experience is only ¤5 per child (min. 20 children)!
Language & lifestyle classes now on offer include French, Spanish, Sewing, Flower Arranging, Art, Photography, Writing, Self Awareness and Yoga.
Upcoming Events Annual Leprechaun Hunt– 3pm on Monday 19th March. ¤3 per person and Children under 3’s FREE. Easter Egg Hunt– 3pm on Monday 9th April. ¤2 per child/Adults and under 3’s FREE.
Newbridge House and Farm – A Day Out for All Seasons
Newbridge Demesne welcomes 100,000 visitors every year. Alongside the magnificent Georgian house and adventure playground families can discover Shetland and Connemara ponies, piglets, goats and baby chicks in one of the few working farms where children can see animals in a free environment. May Bank Holiday Weekend: May 5th to 7th – A celebration of Bealtaine. June 23rd/24th: “Festival of the Dragon” – Bringing together Irish and Chinese tradition with a 60 foot dragon and masters of Kung Fu, Thai Chi, Feng Shui and Qi Gong. July: Inaugural “Flavours of Fingal” Festival.
