Day 2: Bienvenido a Cuba! A charter flight takes you to Havana’s José Martí International Airport, where local Cuban guides greet you. The drive to your hotel orients you with Cuba’s intriguing capital city; its nearly 500-year-old heart, Habana Vieja (Old Havana), is home to one of the largest collections of Spanish-Colonial architecture in the Americas. Stop by Plaza de la Revolución (Revolution Square), dominated by a memorial tower honoring 19th-century Cuban patriot José Martí. Arrive at the Meliá Habana, your hotel in the city’s Miramar section. Following lunch at the hotel, head to the Museum of the Revolution – housed in the neo-Classical building in Habana Vieja that had served as Cuba’s Presidential Palace from 1920 through 1959 – for a discussion on U.S. – Cuban relations. Have dinner tonight at the hotel. Meals BLD
