Al Wasl Hospital is a hospital for mothers and children. It is one of the largest maternity and children’s hospital in UAE and was built in 1987. Al Wasl Hospital provides tertiary care for maternal and neonatal services including Paediatric and Neonatal Surgery as well as treatment for Genetic & Metabolic cases. The hospital has a well equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and expert team of healthcare professionals who provide international levels of neonatal and maternal care. Al Wasl Hospital serves as a referral hospital due to its highly sophisticated and well equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Fetomaternal services and the Pediatric Surgery Unit. Al Wasl hospital was accredited by
JCI in 2007 and re-accredited in 2010. Al Wasl hospital is currently having 444-beds which are distributed across the following services: Gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics and paediatric surgery. These sections are supported with all necessary services and highly sophisticated equipment in order to offer high quality patient care. Al Wasl Hospital was conferred the ‘Baby
Friendly’ hospital status in Feburary 2011 by UNICEF, for its effective implementation of practices that protect, promote and support breastfeeding.
