The University of North Florida was founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 1972 with an initial student body of 2,027 students. Since then, we have grown to more than 16,000 students. UNF is now well-regarded as an institution that values individualized attention, provides transformational learning opportunities, and supports hands-on flagship programs. This reputation has been fostered by our current president, John Delaney, who served two terms as mayor of Jacksonville before coming to UNF. During his tenure, UNF has doubled our privately-funded endowment, increased our contract and grant awards, expanded our flagship programs, and is currently undergoing the biggest construction spree in our history.

We’re excited that you’re interested in joining us on the journey to greatness. THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

The University recently opened the $86 million Osprey Fountains residence hall, the $50 million Student Union, the $27 million College of Education and Human Services building, and the $40 million Biological Sciences Building. And, by the time students start the Fall 2012 term, the new $14.5 million Student Wellness Complex and $16 million Dining Facility will be in use!
