WHAT IS A FLAGSHIP PROGRAM?
Certain programs are given a flagship status based both on the accomplishments of their faculty and the demonstrable potential to attain scholarly distinction as well as their potential to produce exceptional educational outcomes for students linking the quality of education at UNF to a range of civic needs in the region.
AVAILABLE FLAGSHIP PROGRAMS
Coastal Biology
http://www.unf.edu/coas/biology/coastal_biology/ In this program you can count on getting your feet wet while you get real world, hands-on experience. You’ll participate in conservation studies on our 1,400 acre campus and spend time water-side in multiple marine environments located throughout Florida.
Community Nursing
http://www.unf.edu/brooks/nursing/flagship.aspx Students in this program will not only benefit from our strong nursing curriculum and world-class facilities, they’ll also be assigned to a “home-base” community where they’ll work with peers and community leaders to meet the health needs of an under-served or vulnerable group.
International Business
http://www.unf.edu/coggin/int_business/ Continued globalization demands that companies hire employees with a solid business foundation. This flagship program will provide students with that foundational business education and enhance it with cultural insight and cross-border perspective through study abroad/semester exchange opportunities.
Nutrition & Dietetics
http://www.unf.edu/brooks/nutrition/ We’re rising to meet the high demand of this rapidly growing field. Our program takes advantage of strong internship opportunities available in high need areas outside of Jacksonville, Florida, offering more online coursework so students can intern while completing their degree.
Music
http://www.unf.edu/coas/music/ Our music program is one of the most recognized performance-based music programs in the country. Students in this program will take part in outreach programs and band camps with area youth, perform weekly in the community and depending on concentration, travel internationally.
Transportation and Logistics
http://www.unf.edu/coggin/trans_logist/ Our proximity to interstates, railway hubs, and the largest deep water port in the South places us firmly in a major transportation hub. Major organizations provide internships and promising careers for students that have chosen this hands-on program.
