The Gozzard 44 mkii is a superb world cruiser that will appeal to traditionalists unwilling to sacrifice performance and comfort to own a beautiful yacht. Procyon


is hull No. 19 and a Mark II version of the 44 series. The mkii’s keel is shorter in length to create more lift and decrease wetted surface. Deadwood between the keel and rudder was minimized while still retaining a full skeg to protect both propeller and rudder. The deeper, more efficient rudder provides easier and more responsive steering. The cutter rig spreads ample canvas for light air performance and is kept manageable with all furling sails and control lines led aft to the cockpit and a dedicated furling line electric winch. Protection from the elements is one of the most important considerations for a cruising yacht. The large aft cockpit with windshield, dodger, and full enclosure provides a sanctuary in good or lousy weather. This is a beautiful boat both inside and out. There is just enough exterior brightwork for proper yacht appearance without making the owner a varnish slave. Graceful lines and artistic touches such as bow scroll work, cast dolphins, and hull side striping enhance aesthetics with- out increasing maintenance. Design and construction detail are very evident and a testament to skill and dedication of the artisans and craftsmen at Gozzard Yachts.
